About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its innovative and community-driven public library system. The successful candidate will serve as the chief strategist and primary spokesperson, partnering with the Library Board to advance the mission, vision, and long-term priorities. This role involves providing overall leadership, including administration, operations, budgeting, policy development, and staff supervision. The Executive Director will be responsible for balancing strategic vision with operational excellence, ensuring strong financial stewardship, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and service. Building and maintaining relationships with local government, community partners, educational institutions, donors, and civic organizations is a key aspect of the position, as is advocating for the importance of libraries in society. The ideal candidate for this role at the company is a visionary and community-centered leader with a deep belief in the power of public libraries to strengthen communities and expand opportunities. They should be a strategic thinker, capable of translating bold ideas into action, and have the emotional intelligence and communication skills necessary to navigate complex relationships. Financial stewardship, strategic planning, and risk management experience are essential, as is a commitment to the values of equity, inclusion, and access.
