Our client, a well-established and highly regarded organization within the luxury home furnishings and interior design space, is seeking a Director of Design to lead a talented, client-focused team in a new Sarasota location.

About the Role

The Director of Design will oversee a team of designers and support staff, ensuring excellence across design execution, client engagement, and project delivery. This role will play a key part in shaping team culture, driving revenue growth, and maintaining high standards across all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of designers, assistants, and CAD professionals
• Support the full design lifecycle—from client engagement through project completion
• Partner with leadership to recruit, train, and retain top talent
• Collaborate on construction and design contracts to ensure successful project execution
• Maintain and enforce design and CAD standards across the organization
• Drive sales performance by establishing goals and supporting individual success
• Ensure strong margin performance at both the department and individual level
• Address and resolve client concerns with a proactive, service-oriented approach
• Foster collaboration across departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Oversee showroom operations, including opening and closing responsibilities
