Our client, a leader in medical device technology, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join their dedicated team. As a Software Test Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Assurance department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Software Test Engineer
Location: Skaneateles, NY
Pay Range: $33.5/.hr - $35.00/hr
What's the Job? - Design and develop detailed test protocols for medical devices with embedded firmware.
- Execute comprehensive test plans, including functional, integration, system, and performance testing, to validate software functionality and performance against specifications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, collaborating with the development team to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and clinical stakeholders, to ensure thorough understanding and testing of software requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test reports, and defect logs, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
What's Needed? - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software testing, preferably within the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with imaging systems or medical cameras is highly desirable.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, including black-box, white-box, and performance testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail in defect identification and testing processes.
