Job Summary

This position will work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer and school breaks and part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during school sessions.

At the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), our mission is to ensure every Minnesotan has healthy air, clean water, and a better climate. We are looking for an organized individual to join our Human Resources team and keep our vital records moving. In this role, you'll help with our digital records, ensuring that HR staff can seamlessly access and maintain the files that support our workforce. From indexing documents in our Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) to tackling special indexing projects, your work ensures our team stays focused providing the best HR support.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

College student enrolled in post-secondary education.

(To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker, you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student, you must be enrolled in high school or in a postsecondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution, they must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.)

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will not sponsor applicants for work visas including F-1 STEM OPT extensions. Preferred Qualifications

Experience and/or knowledge of electronic file management systems and software.

Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Knowledge of Data Practices.

Ability to handle and maintain confidential information in a professional manner.

Ability to work in a team environment yet independently when needed.

Effective communication, writing, computer, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

Requires frequent use of computer, printer, and scanner, as well as the ability to lift file boxes up to 15 pounds with or without assistance.

Additional Requirements

Position duties may require travel but driving is not a minimum qualification or essential function of this position. Employees who may drive for state business will need their driver's license checked prior to operating a state vehicle.
