JOB DESCRIPTION

Elevator Route Mechanic

Location: Tulsa, OK
Company: Legend-Lifts LLC
Reports To: Service Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Elevator Route Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on a designated route of commercial elevators. This position ensures safe, reliable operation of vertical transportation systems while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with Oklahoma state code requirements.

This is a highly respected role within Legend-Lifts. Our Route Mechanics represent the company in the field and are critical to customer retention and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with state code and manufacturer specifications
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
• Complete required documentation and service reports accurately and timely
• Perform periodic safety testing as required by Oklahoma Department of Labor
• Identify modernization opportunities and repair needs and communicate findings to management
• Respond to emergency service calls when assigned
• Maintain route schedule efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Maintain service vehicle inventory and tools
• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols

Qualifications

• Oklahoma Licensed Elevator Mechanic (or ability to obtain immediately)
• Minimum 3–5 years elevator maintenance and repair experience
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, traction, and MRL systems
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical and mechanical)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in mechanical rooms and hoistways

 

Preferred Experience

• Experience with non-proprietary controllers
• Experience performing annual and five-year tests
• Prior route management experience
