Who We're Looking For A successful Disability Support Worker in accommodation is compassionate, reliable, and confident supporting people with disability to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their home environment. They understand the importance of routine, consistency, and person‑centred care, while remaining flexible to meet changing needs. Core Responsibilities Providing daily living support within an accommodation setting Assisting with personal care, medication prompts/administration (training provided), meal preparation and household tasks Supporting participants to follow routines, achieve goals and participate in community and social activities Implementing individual support plans and behaviour support strategies Maintaining accurate documentation and incident reporting Working collaboratively with team members and leaders This role is being hired on a permanent part‑time basis and works across Griffin and surrounding suburbs. Key Attributes A genuine passion for supporting people with disability and improving quality of life A calm, patient, and respectful approach, particularly in complex or challenging situations Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families and team members Reliability and accountability, with a clear understanding of the impact of consistency in accommodation settings Professional boundaries, empathy, and emotional resilience Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting people with disability, mental health, or complex needs (preferred), along with a strong understanding of person‑centred and trauma‑informed care. They will have flexible and strong availability and demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills while remaining composed under pressure. The role requires confidence working independently, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a broader team. Essential Criteria Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle Valid work rights in Australia Previous experience working with clients who live with mental health issues will be highly regarded St Jude's NDIS are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
